Jiovani is a student at St. Cloud State University in his last year of Business . He lives in the dorms with one room mate. Jiovani is rather quiet. likes to spend his time at the library studying and enjoys the cold winters.

Interview report:
The Interview went pretty well I enjoyed my time with Jiovani. He really likes to talk about his parents country and loves visiting Nicaragua. He's very interesting.

Republic of Nicaragua has a  population of 5.8 million which was last update in 2011.
The capital of Nicaragua is Managua and the main language spoken there is Spanish.
The sandinistas  began redistributing property and made huge progress in health and education. The sandinistas won the election in 1984. The US-sponsored counter- revolution which was when Washington arm and finances improved the trade sanctions and mined Nicaraguan  harbours.
Peace brought economic growth, lower inflation and lower employment. The hurricane Mitch in 1998 killed thousands and left 20% of Nicaragua's population homeless and caused billions of dollars worth of damage. Daniel Ortega won the elections in 2011 again after leading Nicaragua through revolution and civil war. Ortega has made wealth programs which also triggered hostility for the US administration.

Interview:

Ah: Hello Jiovani, How is everything with you

J: Everything is going pretty well for me, and for you

Ah: Just great.

Ah: Do you have time for a thirty to forty minutes interview?

J: Yes, I have enough time for the interview.

Ah: I would like to start by asking do you like the weather in St.Cloud? Please explain.

J: I love the weather in St. Cloud, MN. I enjoy the cold winters.

Ah: What do you do for leisure?

J: During the week I like to stay in the library and during the weekend I enjoy spending time ice skating.

Ah: Oh that's interesting! What about your family

J: my father and my mother are both here in the U.S but we still have relatives back home in Nicaragua.

Ah: Alright! Could you please tell me about yourself?

J: I'm quiet but, I like to have fun during the winter because i can always find something to do with the snow.

Ah: I can't say the same thing because I don't appreciate he weather here but the snow is fun sometimes.

Ah: How often do you communicate with your family back at home?

J: I don't communicate with them as much as I would like to because I'm always super busy but my father keeps me update since, he has a small business there he needs to call back home almost everyday.

Ah: Fantastic! do you help your father in any way?

G: yes I do, I travel with him once a year when he goes back home to help him manage a thing here and there.

Ah: What is the biggest holiday in your country? Please explain about the holidays (Activities, Food, Date, Origin, and etc,)
J: Christmas is the biggest holiday because everyone gets together to spend family. for example all of us from here go back to Nicaragua with so many presents for everyone. Everyone waits for this time of the year to exchange gifts

Ah: Cool, so everyone has a good time

J: yes, Everyone has the time of their life's shopping and buy new things in December.

Ah: Tell me some important things from your culture?

J: I was born here, but it's always felt like I'm more from Nicaragua. Reason being my family is very family orientated.
Ah: What’s the biggest difference between the American culture and your culture?

J: There is a big difference between American culture and my culture. Just from the simplest things like food. At home we always have authentic Spanish food. My family respects each other specially when it comes to our parents.

Ah: What are your goals for the future; after you graduate, what are you going to do?

J: I hope to stay between here and Nicaragua to help my dad manage his business since, he is planning on retiring soon.

Ah: Oh wow. That does sound challenging.

Ah: Do you have any questions for me? I have asked so many of you!

J:What did you think of Nicaragua when you were there?

Ah: To be honest I had a fabulous time when I was there however, its very different than my life style that I've always had before.

Ah: What is the importance of family in your culture?

J: When it comes to family there's nothing else as important. We keep each other updated of everything that's going on in our life's and we are always there in good times and bad situations.

Ah: What are some similarities between life in the U.S and in you country?

J: To me people from here focus on other things and are more independent therefore, there is not much of similarities between the two countries.

Ah: What is the favorite food from Nicaragua?

J: Whenever I go to Nicaragua I enjoy the deliciousness of "pollo al vino" which is Chicken cooked with wine and vegetables.

Ah: Do you prefer to live in here or in there?

J: I have always lived here and for sure I would never leave the country permanently but, I know that I will always be going to Nicaragua on a regular bases. The answer to your questions is here because all of my childhood was spend here and those are memorable times for me.

Ah: What are some similarities between life in the U.S and in you country?

Al: is not a similarity but I think my country is becoming like the U.S that people are losing their interest in family time.

Ah: What is the favorite food in your country?

Al: We have a traditional food called “gallo pinto” beans and rice mixed, its usually accompanied with cheese, banana and
Ah: Do you prefer to live in here or in there?

G: I have adapted to this life style but it doesn't necessarily mean I prefer to live here. I would prefer to be back home with all my family and since not all of my family is there either. I don't have a preference.
