Global warming has increasingly become a popular topic in our society over the past couple of years. Many scientists are finding that recent years our planet is growing warmer. Global warming is described as the predictable continuation in the current increase of the temperature of the Earths Ocean and atmosphere. The interest that has generated from global warming is attributed to its effects and causative agents and factors. Scientific research that has been conducted over the years indicates that global warming is currently occurring and the human activities are the main initiators of the aspect (Boykoff,125). However, extreme weather conditions have been linked as initiators as well but the concentration is aimed at the human beings. The greenhouse effect has been one of the major concerns among the activities conducted by humans. The greenhouse gases have been detected to cause an imbalance in the atmosphere as they trap the heat emitted by the sun. However, as much as scientists have been trying to prove the existences and effects of global warming, and how it can be dangerous, there has been rising controversy which based on the results collected. The controversy is based on the arguments regarding the causes, nature and consequences. The arguments are generated by the fact that the evidence produced by the scientists working on the idea is not sufficient. Therefore, this paper aims to look at global warming and the controversy. Here is the significant question: Are the arguments presented by scientists sufficient to prove the existence, causes and consequences of global warming?
The first point is the causes of global warming. According to the scientists and professionals, human beings are the main initiators of global warming. This belief has been supported by the research which has been conducted reflecting on the human activities as one of the major concerns has centered on the greenhouse effect. This is in reflection of the gases that are emitted from the greenhouses leading to global warming. The greenhouse effect makes sure that the heat and light can have access through the atmosphere but it cannot get out. The green house gas causes a warming of about 33°C (Boykoff 126). The fact that most of the gases and water vapor further supports the warming effect that they have on the earth. After the industrial revolution, the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has been steadily increasing (Nordhaus and Boyer 26). However, despite the fact that there has been some evidence gathered to prove that the greenhouse gases have increased the temperature of the earth, some people still do not look at global warming as a threat as they do not believe in its existence.
The argument presented by the critics is based on the fact that the data collected is not clear enough to indicate that there is a measurable upward trend on global measures. Scientists have not been able to produce long term historical climate data, and this has made the data that they have collected over the years to be rendered not enough by the critics of the existence of global warming (Held and Soden 441). Some of the scientists, who do not believe in the existence of global warming claim that other scientists have collected data that is interpreted incorrectly since they want to prove that global warming is occurring, or they want people to believe in its existence. They claim that their judgment is clouded by the fact that they are worried about global warming. The statistics collected cannot be used to prove it, and they should focus on collecting evidence objectively.
Some of the scientists, who believe global warming is currently occurring, believe that it is nothing to be worried about. Therefore, the controversy is looked at based on different angles, where the causes are disputed as well as the consequences. The argument presented on the effect of the greenhouses is based on the importance of the greenhouses (Hughes 56). The belief is based on the fact that temperature can change in manner that will benefit us. For this reason, the greenhouse effect creates an appropriate atmosphere that helps in the sustenance of human life. The explanation used is that without the effect of the greenhouses, the earth would be freezing or too hot for people to survive (Hughes 56). Scientists, who believe in global warming, use this explanation provided to claim that the prolonged effect of the greenhouses, makes the earth unusually warmer and this has a negative effect on the lives of all living things (Held and Soden 445). The theory that has been developed is that with too much of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the earth will trap too much heat and it will be too hot for any life to survive. Therefore, every living thing would die.
Although there has not been such an experience before, there have been some changes in the climate that can be used to support the claims of the scientists. The evidence presented by the scientists is based on the long term forecasting, but since they lack any historical evidence it has become difficult for them to prove their research (Boykoff 128). In addition, there have been global temperatures that have been linked to global warming, but the argument is based on the fact that they could be the natural occurring climate shifts of the earth or other factors other than the green houses.
The second point is the expected changes due to global warming. Scientists have not only been focusing their study on the existence of global warming, but they have also been focusing on the likely effects and the precautions that people need to take. Global warming has been detected in a number of systems that are used to monitor the temperature changes. There have been some cases of the rising sea levels and the receding ice caps in some of the mountains as well as snow quantity (Hughes 57). These changes are expected to influence a great warming over land. Other effects related to the atmosphere are: increase in levels of acidity, temperature rise, oxygen depletion and other related concepts that are related to warming of the earth.
The changes are not only based on the climate, but they are also based on the social factors as well, which revolve around the living things and how their environment and community, their surroundings in general, will be affected. The human societies are rather vulnerable to the extreme weather conditions than the climatic changes. The adverse effects of the climate changes have been evident on the small islands mainly (Held and Soden 448). This has affected human health in different ways. Malnutrition has been the leading effect on the health of the people because of the changes in climate. The unfavorable drought conditions have led to the dietary changes of the people affected and this has reduced the overall consumption (Boykoff 130). In general, this has led to micronutrients decencies, and in some extreme cases there have been reports of death due to starvation and lack of proper meals. The World Health Organization (WHO) got involved in the study as they had to research on the cases of mortality and morbidity due to a range of factors including climate change (Nordhaus and Boyer 34).
Some cases based on the climate changes were recorded as well, and the fact that was no measures taken to prepare for the changes was highly reflected on. Moreover, the research has been conducted on the suffering of the people based on the climate changes, and the results have indicated that the suffering was being caused by four reasons which are: heat waves, floods, droughts and storms among other factors (Hughes 59). These climatic conditions have additionally contributed to the spread of infectious diseases among the regions affected by these climatic conditions. These include three things which are malaria, diarrhea and dengue.
Migration and conflict are other effects of global warming triggered by the climatic conditions. They may not be considered as direct effects, but the circumstances leading to the migration are caused by the climatic changes. When the living conditions in one area become unbearable, the people are forced to migrate to better areas and this may arise in conflict as fight for space becomes the main issue.
The argument that is used to challenge these effects is based on the fact that these are natural climate shifts that are bound to happen from time to another time. The changes are quite unusual, but they cannot be used to explain global warming. These changes have already begun occurring in some particular areas, and the scientists believe that they are not to be highly worried about (Held and Soden 450). Their belief is based on the ability of the earth to withstand these climate changes than what people tend to think. The earth can be able to survive these changes and so will the plants and animals as they will have to adapt to the climatic changes. In response to these effects that the climate changes are having on the social lives of the living things, scientists claim that people and animals can be able to adapt to the adverse living conditions. Their stand is still based on the fact that nothing catastrophic will occur as a result of the global warming (Boykoff 135). If the greenhouses projects are stopped in most of the countries, then the economic damage will be more than the climatic changes which are likely to occur. However, the results collected on the effects have been providing different answers so far.
There have been increased cases of deaths and cases of malnutrition as well. There is no doubt that they have been caused by the climatic changes. The relationship between the climatic changes and global warming is very strong despite the fact that most people do not want to believe it (Root et al 58). Some of the scientists, who are against the existence of global warming, claim that technology can be used to deliver the world from any mess and its constant evolution are the hope that the world has if global warming undoubtedly does exist (Hughes 59). However, the same cannot be claimed for the people suffering from the adverse effects of the changes in the climate. Therefore, the lack of acceptance of the existence of global warming is causing other people their lives as they cannot be able to take any preventive or protective measures prior to the disaster (Held and Soden 451). This is because the decision lies within the government, and they have to weigh their economic options as well before they make any drastic decisions.
The last point is the public opinion. There has been the growing belief among the members of the public, despite the dispute among the scientists on the existence of global warming and its effects. The change in attitude is a recent factor because of the media. The media is being a key factor in communication provided very minimal coverage on global warming and its effect (Weart 55).  The situation was still the same in 1988, as most governments were not convinced of its existence as they could not attribute the hot weather, they were experiencing to global warming (Held and Soden 468). However, based on the environmental changes that have been taking place and the effect they have on the social lives of the people, the attitude has changed significantly. The people lacked the knowledge that they needed to understand global warming and the fact that the media was not providing any coverage on the issue placed them in the dark (Victor 46).
Most of the environmental organizations and activists were intent on supporting global warming and its effects. Their actions got them the attention that they needed, and this also raised an interest in the media department as well. This has caused significant changes among people and governments (Held and Soden 454). This was evident in that all of the European Union member states and European countries have already taken an action to reduce the green houses operations in the country. This is the first step in controlling the situation as the climate changes are caused by the gases emitted by the projects. This is not the only causative agent but the control of the green houses will solve a major part of the problem.
Europe is rated as the top nation in taking effective measures in controlling the climatic changes is the second most serious problem that is facing the universe currently. Based on the evolution of the industries and technologies, controlling the green houses will be difficult but the fact that they are trying provides the people with hope for a better future (Hughes 60). The media has been playing an active role in supporting the existence and effects of global warming and forcing most of the governments to take action that will prevent it. However, there are still ongoing arguments that the media should be able to cover both sides of the controversy (Held and Soden 461). Despite, the ongoing debates, the fact that the people are craving more knowledge is the objective that most scientists have been trying to achieve. The number of people in the public that believe in global warming is increasing on a daily basis. Although some countries are still reluctant to control their green houses as they are still waiting for more proof, there has been significant change in the public in general. The belief of the existence of global warming is stronger than the belief that human activities are causing it. However, this is not a problem because the fact that there is action being taken is what is important.
In conclusion, global warming has been a controversial issue for a long time now, but there have also been some changes in the department. The argument that was against the existence of global warming and its effects has gradually changed as there are many different opinions now. This is attributed to the climatic changes that have been taking place, and how they are affecting the people. Therefore, although it has taken time scientists have been able to provide solid arguments that have changed the opinion of people and supported the existence of global warming. People may or may not believe the scientists. It is still reasonable for them to do whatever they can to stop this process.

Third Interview

How did I approach to make an interview?

I ask Jiovani to help me with the interview because he's parents are from Nicaragua and he knows a lot about the culture and people.

Who did I interview?

Jiovani is a student at St. Cloud State University in his last year of Business . He lives in the dorms with one room mate. Jiovani is rather quiet. likes to spend his time at the library studying and enjoys the cold winters.

Interview report:
The Interview went pretty well I enjoyed my time with Jiovani. He really likes to talk about his parents country and loves visiting Nicaragua. He's very interesting.

Republic of Nicaragua has a  population of 5.8 million which was last update in 2011.
The capital of Nicaragua is Managua and the main language spoken there is Spanish.
The sandinistas  began redistributing property and made huge progress in health and education. The sandinistas won the election in 1984. The US-sponsored counter- revolution which was when Washington arm and finances improved the trade sanctions and mined Nicaraguan  harbours.
Peace brought economic growth, lower inflation and lower employment. The hurricane Mitch in 1998 killed thousands and left 20% of Nicaragua's population homeless and caused billions of dollars worth of damage. Daniel Ortega won the elections in 2011 again after leading Nicaragua through revolution and civil war. Ortega has made wealth programs which also triggered hostility for the US administration.

Interview:

Ah: Hello Jiovani, How is everything with you

J: Everything is going pretty well for me, and for you

Ah: Just great.

Ah: Do you have time for a thirty to forty minutes interview?

J: Yes, I have enough time for the interview.

Ah: I would like to start by asking do you like the weather in St.Cloud? Please explain.

J: I love the weather in St. Cloud, MN. I enjoy the cold winters.

Ah: What do you do for leisure?

J: During the week I like to stay in the library and during the weekend I enjoy spending time ice skating.

Ah: Oh that's interesting! What about your family

J: my father and my mother are both here in the U.S but we still have relatives back home in Nicaragua.

Ah: Alright! Could you please tell me about yourself?

J: I'm quiet but, I like to have fun during the winter because i can always find something to do with the snow.

Ah: I can't say the same thing because I don't appreciate he weather here but the snow is fun sometimes.

Ah: How often do you communicate with your family back at home?

J: I don't communicate with them as much as I would like to because I'm always super busy but my father keeps me update since, he has a small business there he needs to call back home almost everyday.

Ah: Fantastic! do you help your father in any way?

G: yes I do, I travel with him once a year when he goes back home to help him manage a thing here and there.

Ah: What is the biggest holiday in your country? Please explain about the holidays (Activities, Food, Date, Origin, and etc,)
J: Christmas is the biggest holiday because everyone gets together to spend family. for example all of us from here go back to Nicaragua with so many presents for everyone. Everyone waits for this time of the year to exchange gifts

Ah: Cool, so everyone has a good time

J: yes, Everyone has the time of their life's shopping and buy new things in December.

Ah: Tell me some important things from your culture?

J: I was born here, but it's always felt like I'm more from Nicaragua. Reason being my family is very family orientated.
Ah: What’s the biggest difference between the American culture and your culture?

J: There is a big difference between American culture and my culture. Just from the simplest things like food. At home we always have authentic Spanish food. My family respects each other specially when it comes to our parents.

Ah: What are your goals for the future; after you graduate, what are you going to do?

J: I hope to stay between here and Nicaragua to help my dad manage his business since, he is planning on retiring soon.

Ah: Oh wow. That does sound challenging.

Ah: Do you have any questions for me? I have asked so many of you!

J:What did you think of Nicaragua when you were there?

Ah: To be honest I had a fabulous time when I was there however, its very different than my life style that I've always had before.

Ah: What is the importance of family in your culture?

J: When it comes to family there's nothing else as important. We keep each other updated of everything that's going on in our life's and we are always there in good times and bad situations.

Ah: What are some similarities between life in the U.S and in you country?

J: To me people from here focus on other things and are more independent therefore, there is not much of similarities between the two countries.

Ah: What is the favorite food from Nicaragua?

J: Whenever I go to Nicaragua I enjoy the deliciousness of "pollo al vino" which is Chicken cooked with wine and vegetables.

Ah: Do you prefer to live in here or in there?

J: I have always lived here and for sure I would never leave the country permanently but, I know that I will always be going to Nicaragua on a regular bases. The answer to your questions is here because all of my childhood was spend here and those are memorable times for me.

Second Interview

How did I approach to make an interview?

I have visited Nicaragua couple times because their culture is interesting to me. A friend of mine that knows a guy from there decided to help me with my interview.

Who did I interview?

Guilo is a student at St. Cloud State University in his last year of Electric Engineering. He lives in the dorms with three roommates. Guilo is very active, he likes to spend his free time at the gym some of the sports he plays are soccer, basketball and baseball.

Interview report:

The Interview went pretty well I learned things about his country that I didn't know about. He was a bit shy about sharing too much so I told him it was okay to keep it at his confortable level.

Country report :

Republic of Nicaragua has a  population of 5.8 million which was last update in 2011.
The capital of Nicaragua is Managua and the main language spoken there is Spanish.
The sandinistas  began redistributing property and made huge progress in health and education. The sandinistas won the election in 1984. The US-sponsored counter- revolution which was when Washington arm and finances improved the trade sanctions and mined Nicaraguan  harbours.
Peace brought economic growth, lower inflation and lower employment. Daniel Ortega won the elections in 2011 again after leading Nicaragua through revolution and civil war. Ortega has made wealth programs which also triggered hostility for the US administration.

Interview:

Ah: Hello guilo, how are you doing today?

G: I am doing very well, how are you?

Ah: I am doing great thanks, nice to meet you.

G: Nice to meet you too.

Ah: Do you have time for a thirty to forty minutes interview?

G: Absolutely.

Ah: I would like to start by asking do you like the weather in St.Cloud? Please explain.

G: The weather in St. Cloud is just ok to me because I really dislike the cold winters in Minnesota.

Ah: What do you do for leisure?

G: During the week I like to stay in the library and during the weekend I enjoy spending time with my friends.

Ah: Oh that's interesting! What about your family

G: my father and my mother are both here in the U.S but we still have relatives back home in Nicaragua.

Ah: I am sorry to hear that. Could you please tell me about yourself?

G: I love being in school. I like to travel my plans are to keep traveling in the future. I’m hoping to move to a different state where the weather is not so cold.

Ah: We think the same about traveling because I’m the same way. My family travels a lot as well.

Ah: How often do you communicate with your family back at home?

G: I try to call them at least one or twice a week to keep in touch. However it does not always works out this way

Ah: Understandable I'm sure you have many other things that you have to do as well.

G: yes I do, including my work, school and visiting my family. One advice I want to put out there is that you should never forget about your people back home.

Ah: What is the biggest holiday in your country? Please explain about the holidays (Activities, Food, Date, Origin, and etc,)
G: Christmas is the biggest holiday people celebrate back home. Everyone gets together and spend days and days celebrating and is traditional to wear new clothes on Christmas day.

Ah: Wow, so everyone buys new clothes.

G: yes. Everyone, people save money from before to dress their best.

Ah: Tell me some important things from your culture?

Al: I’ve been here since I was and since we don’t have much family in the U.S we are clothes to each other.
Ah: What’s the biggest difference between the American culture and your culture?

G: There is a big difference between American culture and my culture. At a young age we are punished for misbehaving or being bad. Since I’m a guy a need to take care of my younger siblings specially my sister.
Ah: What are your goals for the future; after you graduate, what are you going to do?

G: I hope to find a great job and get married to a wonderful woman that has the same interests as mine.

Ah: Do you have any questions for me? I have asked so many of you!

G: No, I don’t .

Ah: What is the importance of family in your culture?

G: As I mentioned before family is very important to us. We like to spend a lot of time together and even some people don't move out of their parents home until they are way older.

Ah: What are some similarities between life in the U.S and in you country?

Al: is not a similarity but I think my country is becoming like the U.S that people are losing their interest in family time.

Ah: What is the favorite food in your country?

Al: We have a traditional food called “gallo pinto” beans and rice mixed, its usually accompanied with cheese, banana and
Ah: Do you prefer to live in here or in there?

G: I have adapted to this life style but it doesn't necessarily mean I prefer to live here. I would prefer to be back home with all my family and since not all of my family is there either. I don't have a preference.

Interview #1

How did I approach to make an interview ?

I have visited Nicaragua couple times with one of my good friends so, I decided to ask her about if she had free time for an interview. We agreed to meet at the library to complete the interview.

Who did I interview ?

Aleyda is a student at St. Cloud State University in her fist year of Biomedical Science. She lives in the dorms with one roommate. Aleyda is very active, she likes to spend her free time at the gym some of the sports she plays are soccer, basketball and tennis.

interview report:

The Interview went pretty well I learned things about her country that I didn't expect. However Aleyda did not let me record the interview because she felt uneasy to have her voice recorded.

Interview:

Ah: Hi Aleyda, How are you doing today?

Al: I am doing very good, How are you?

Ah: I am doing great thanks. Do you have time for a thirty to forty minutes interview ?

Al: Absolutely.

Ah: I would like to start by do you like the weather in St.Cloud? Please explain.

Al: The weather in St. Cloud is just ok to me because I really dislike the cold winters in Minnesota.

Ah: What do you do for leisure?

Al: During the week I like to stay in the library and during the weekend I go visit my parents in the cities.

Ah: Oh that's interesting! is all of your family in the cities?

Al: No, sadly my mother still lives in Nicaragua and most of my family. My father and my three brothers are the only ones that live in the cities.

Ah: I am sorry to hear that. Could you please tell me about yourself?

Al: There isn't much to say about myself but my life took a phenomenal change recently when I became a Muslim. I've had the great opportunity to meet amazing people at St. Cloud State from all over the world. The thing that I love the most about our University is its diversity.

Ah: I can relate to what your saying because when I first came from Saudi Arabia I was engaged with many different cultures which made me it easier for me to adapt to the country.

Al: Being away from your home country is never easy but when you have people from all over the world everyone has something in common.

Ah: How often do you communicate with your family back at home?

Al: I try to call my mother at least once a week but it usually doesn't happen how I plan it to.

Ah: Understandable I'm sure you have many other things that you have to do as well.

Al: yes I do, including my work, school and visiting my family in the cities but one advice I want to put out there is that you should never forget about your people back home.

Ah: What is the biggest holiday in your country? Please explain about the holidays (Activities, Food, Date, Origin, and etc,)

Al: Independents days is the biggest holiday celebrated in Nicaragua. People travel a lot and a lot of the families get together to cook nacatamales which is one of the traditional food there. People spend day and night away celebrating dancing and spending their money on fireworks. Most of the kids spend their time outside and some don't even come home to sleep which makes the mothers worry to much during this time.

Ah: wow that seems like it would be very fun and dangerous at the same time

Al: Believe me its not dangerous at all if you stay within your neighborhood because everyone knows each other so its like being around your family all the time.

Ah: In what ways might it be difficult to practice your religion here in the U.S?

Al: Racism is hard to face in the US because the media makes Islam seem bad and the ignorant people believe it without having finding the truth for themselves.

Ah: Tell me some important things from your culture ?

Al: We were brought up in a very family oriented culture. Our family are very important to us and religion as well. Even though I grew up here in the US my father made sure I kept my root culture.

Ah: Whats the biggest difference between the American culture and your culture?

Al: There is a big difference between American culture and mine. The fact that I'm a girl means that my brother had to take care of me and I had to ask my dad for permission to do anything that I wanted to do. plus we don't have the disrespect children have in the US with their parents and others in particular. We are taught to respect our elders always if not we get punished.

Ah: What are your goals for the future; after you graduate, what are you going to do?

Al: I hope to move to a different country were the weather is not so cold. I hope to marry the man of My life and travel to a different country every year. Saudi Arabia is at the top of my list.

Ah:Do you have any questions for me? I have asked so many of you!

Al: I don't right now but if I think of any I will for sure let you know.

Ah:What is the important of family in your culture ?

Al: As I mentioned before family is very important to us. we like to spend a lot of time together and even some people don't move out of their parents home until they are way older

Ah:What are some similarities between life in the U.S and in you country ?

Al: Nothing that I can think of right now.

Ah:What is the favorite food in your country ?

Al: Nacatamales. They are moved from masa ( made from corn) with vegetables like potatoes green pepeer , onions, rice and meat inside the masa.

Ah:Do you prefer to live in here or in there ?

Al: I have adapted to this life style but it doesn't necessarily mean I prefer to live here. I would prefer to be back home with all my family and since not all of my family is there either. I don't have a preference.

Fishing is Fun

I summarized page fifteen of the book Fishing Is Fun by Arthur H. Carhart. The page gave brief information about the changes in the weather and how fish switch locations in the rivers.

The first book- on page 15 Aurther Carhart explains to us the seasonal changes in the weather that affect where the fish stay in the river. When the weather gets colder outside one has to know how to fish in order to get what he wants. For example the walleyes stay closer to the bottom of the river. The reason why some fish stay at the bottom of the river is because they are feeding on smaller fish and to start getting used the cold season. Regardless of how talented a fisherman can handle his rod, he must know where the fish are dwelling and what to use to catch them. Before the weather changes its much easier to catch the fish because of the heat. For example when it’s warmer out one is more successful at catching bass after the heat of the day has passed.

The second Book I choose. The Fishes by Url Lanham.

In this book the author explains to us the different originations of the many different kinds of fish and the characteristics that we can expect to find in these types of fishes. The author also takes us back to the history of the fishes and some sharks as well. Telling us who they mated with and how they developed. The author takes a step further to inform us about the reproduction of the fish. Reproductions vary widely. Some fish for example distribute their eggs and they are combined with others sperms and some of the fish live and most die however there are others that take very good care of their fish. This also maybe why some stay at the surface of the sea when the weather is hot and or warm but they stay very deep in the water when the cold weather arrives. Being that the little one get eaten by the big fish at the bottom.

My online source- Fishing the changes of Season by Bob McNally tells us that depending on the weather in the fall the mornings are always good for fishing. When the water is clear and this makes it easier for one to spot the fishes and to decide where to camp for fishing.

 Description

Little Princess

Little Princess is a book by Conor Grennan. This book explains how the life of the author changes after deciding to bring back the children from the orphanage. The life of the author changes as he had other individuals that were involved with him which was not the case before he had decided to bring them back.

In this chapter the author explains how the children came to the place they were which the orphanage was,. It all happened when a man who was well known due to his political position and power, promised to take care of those children whose parents were poor.  The politician promised to help those children and save them from slavery, forced labor as well as joining rebel army. Since the parents were poor, thy decided to give him that chance to offer them help. They gave him their hope and trusted the man with their children. They came together, collected, some money as appreciation to the politician but once he got the money he ended up abandoning the children, forcing them to engage in hard work as well as selling them.

The boys at the orphanage and their caretakers spend most of their time on the roof in order to gets some respite from the hot weather. On one such day they observe a strange woman approach the orphanage, a woman who turns out to be Krish and Nuraj’s mother. Connor and invite the woman into the orphanage and subsequently she tells them about the history of her family and how they all ended up at that place. She and her husband were forced to send the two boys away to avoid them being conscripted by Maoist rebels, but the person they trusted to do so turned out to be a child trafficker, and they lost their children who later ended up at the orphanage.

Grennan, who is in this case the author, took his time to trek through mountainous areas, hoping to find the parents of the children alive in order to tell them of what was going on. He trekked for long distances taking personal risks to make certain that he met these parents and tell them of their children. This is because of the pity he felt for the kids, having in mind that it was not right for them to suffer as they were. He neither experiences lots of failures in his struggling but is nor ready to give up. In his quest h eventually falls in love but this does not make him forget his mission of finding the parents and informing them of their children.

Conor tried to get the seven children to open up and play silly games with him.  He tried to brighten their attitudes by taking their pictures (most of the children had not seen their own faces before, it was a very exciting experience for them).  But while the children were becoming more playful, the political situation in Nepal grew worse.  Conor and Farid rushed to find a home for the seven children, but it was growing more hopeless.

Analysis

According to the chapter it is clear that the author, Conor Grennan, is a very caring and loving individual. Conor shared his original motivations and intentions for going to Nepal. All the activities carried out by the author are mentioned in order to bring out the meaning and help the readers understand the purpose of his actions, to bring life to how his attitude toward helping the orphans had changed drastically. The book is written in a very straight-forward tone, yet provides all the necessary information about the children, the author, and their relationship. It also provides additional information on the private life and thoughts of the author which is not necessarily the main topic, but provides more insight as to why he does the things he does. This is the reason why Little Princes is referred to as an inspiring book.

This part of the book is very emotional. The author manages to show the plight of the people being mistreated by the Maoists to such a degree that it almost feels as if the reader is experiencing it firsthand. The author paints a vivid picture of the situation that allows the reader to appreciate the plight of the poor peasants. The reader can also feel the pain felt by the parents, especially after the boys’ father walks all the way to Kathmandu only to realise that he has been duped and has lost his family.

Generally, the story in this book is touching and uplifting, looking at the characteristics given to the author and how he struggles overcoming challenges to accomplish his mission. It is as well a refreshing story which tells of a young man who is out to look for adventure and ends up finding maturity in the middle of his purpose. It is a story that raises the spirit and reminds the readers about the capacity of joy and the strength children have. It is also a story which tells how good deeds can be drawn from a charitable act by an individual.
